If you choose to invest through a holding company or other business vehicle rather than as a private individual, Centi requires KYB (Know Your Business) verification before your subscription can be processed. KYB is the business-entity equivalent of personal KYC and confirms that the legal entity investing is properly registered and its ownership is transparent.

KYB vs KYC

KYCKYB
Who it applies toYou as an individual investorA company or holding vehicle you invest through
What it verifiesYour personal identity via a government-issued documentThe legal entity’s registration and ownership structure
Documents requiredPassport, national ID, or driving licenceCertificate of registration and shareholders’ register
You may need to complete both KYC and KYB if your fund manager has enabled identity verification and you are investing through a holding company. KYC is always about you as a person; KYB is about the entity you are using as your investment vehicle.

When KYB is required

Your fund manager registers holding companies against shareholder records in the Fund Portal. If a holding company is linked to your account and the fund manager requires KYB verification for it, Centi prompts you with an Investment vehicle verification request banner on your home page the next time you sign in. The banner names the specific holding company that needs to be verified, so you know exactly which entity’s documents to prepare.

Starting KYB verification

1

Open the verification request

On your home page, locate the Investment vehicle verification request banner for the relevant holding company and click Verify [company name].
2

Review the pre-filled company details

Centi displays the information your fund manager has already recorded for the entity: company name, organisation number, incorporation country, and legal type. These fields are read-only — if any detail is wrong, contact your fund manager to have it corrected before proceeding.
3

Enter the company's registered address

Fill in the street address, zip/postal code, city, and country for the holding company’s registered office.
4

Upload the certificate of registration

Attach the company’s certificate of registration as a PDF or Word document. This is the official document issued by the company registry in the country of incorporation confirming the entity exists.
5

Upload the shareholders' register

Attach the shareholders’ register as a PDF, Word document, or Excel file. This document lists the current owners of the entity and their respective shareholdings, confirming the ultimate beneficial ownership.
6

Submit

Review the Centi Privacy Policy link shown below the form, then click Submit. Centi uploads your documents securely and notifies the fund manager’s compliance team for review.
After you click Submit, the portal returns you to the home page. The Investment vehicle verification request banner disappears once submission is confirmed.

Required documents

DocumentAccepted formatsPurpose
Certificate of registrationPDF, DOCXConfirms the entity is legally incorporated and provides its registered details
Shareholders’ registerPDF, DOCX, XLSXLists the beneficial owners of the entity and their percentage ownership
Ensure both documents are current, legible, and not password-protected. Compliance teams may reject submissions where documents are outdated or the content is unclear.

KYB status

After submission, your fund manager’s compliance team reviews the documents. The status of your KYB request follows the same pattern as KYC:
StatusWhat it means
ActiveA verification request is open and waiting for you to upload your company documents.
SubmittedDocuments have been submitted and are under review. No action is needed from you yet.
ResubmitThe compliance team has requested additional or corrected documents. You will be prompted to go through the KYB flow again.
Once the compliance team approves your KYB submission, the banner disappears from your home page and the holding company is cleared for investment. You will not be shown a verification request for that entity again unless your fund manager raises a new one.

While your KYB is under review

You can continue to browse your investment summary and transaction history while KYB is being reviewed. However, you will not be able to complete a subscription for offers that require the holding company to be verified until the review is approved. If you have a subscription deadline and your KYB is taking longer than expected, contact your fund manager directly — they control the review process and can expedite it if needed.
