KYC (Know Your Customer) is a regulatory requirement that confirms your identity before you can subscribe to an equity offer. Centi’s KYC verification is powered by ComplyCube and typically takes only a few minutes to complete. Once your identity is verified, you do not need to repeat the process for subsequent offers within the same organisation.

Why KYC is required

Fund managers operating private equity programs are required by anti-money laundering (AML) regulations to verify the identity of their investors before accepting subscriptions. Your fund manager configures whether KYC is required on a per-organisation basis. If it is enabled, Centi will prompt you to verify your identity before allowing you to subscribe to any offer.

When you will be prompted to verify

You may encounter the KYC verification flow in two places:
  • Home page banner — if a verification request is outstanding for your account, an Identity verification request banner appears at the top of your home page with a Verify identity button.
  • Opening an offer — if you click through to an offer and KYC has not yet been completed, Centi automatically redirects you to the verification flow. Once verification is submitted, you are returned to the offer.

The verification process

1

Start the verification

Click Verify identity on the home page banner, or open an offer that requires KYC. Centi loads the ComplyCube verification interface.
2

Select your document type

ComplyCube displays the identity document types accepted by your fund manager — for example passport, national identity card, or driving licence. Select the type you want to use.
3

Upload or capture your document

Follow the on-screen instructions to upload a scan or take a photo of your document. Ensure the image is clear, well-lit, and fully in frame.
4

Complete a liveness check

You will be asked to complete a short facial photo check to confirm you are the person shown in the document.
5

Submit

Review the captured data and submit. ComplyCube sends the result to Centi for processing. You will see a confirmation screen when the submission is received.
Use a modern browser on a device with a camera for the best experience. Ensure your document is not expired and that all four corners are visible in the image.

KYC statuses

Centi tracks the status of your verification request throughout the review process.
StatusWhat it means
ActiveA verification request is open and waiting for you to complete the identity verification process.
SubmittedYour documents have been submitted and are under review by the fund manager or compliance team. You may need to wait before subscribing.
ResubmitAdditional information is needed. You will be prompted to go through the verification flow again with corrected or supplementary documents.
Once the compliance team approves your verification, the banner disappears from your home page and you are free to subscribe to offers. You will not be shown a verification request again for the same organisation unless your fund manager raises a new one.

If your verification requires resubmission

If your status changes to Resubmit, Centi notifies you and re-enables the verification flow so you can try again. Common reasons for resubmission include:
  • A blurry or partially obscured document image
  • An expired identity document
  • A mismatch between the document name and the name on your investor record
1

Return to verification

Click Verify identity on the home page banner, which reappears when resubmission is required.
2

Resubmit with corrected documents

Use a valid, unexpired document and ensure the images are clear before submitting.
3

Wait for review

Your new submission enters the review queue. You will be notified when the outcome is available.

Getting help

If you encounter a technical issue during verification, or your status has not updated after several business days, contact Centi support:
  • Email: operations@gocenti.com
  • Include your name, the email address you sign in with, and the name of the organisation you are trying to verify for.
KYC review is performed by the fund manager or their compliance team, not by Centi. If your verification has been submitted successfully, any delay in approval is outside Centi’s control. Contact your fund manager directly if you have an urgent deadline.
